On the technique of stripping and sheath removal

A high quality conductive connection requires the proper removal of the cable sheath and carefully stripping of the various conductors.
The cable sheath can be removed quickly and cleanly using a suitable sheath removal tool.

The individual conductors must be stripped cleanly, to the correct length and without damage in the contact area. The pliers required for this purpose can be classified as follows:

Stripping pliers with stripping holes are designed for one or more defined conductor cuts.
The circular cutting holes are only suitable for the clean and safe stripping of the cross-section for which they have been designed. If there are several hole diameters, the risk of confusion and therefore conductor damage must be taken into consideration.

Self-adjusting insulation strippers adjust automatically to the required diameter or insulation thickness. There is nearly no risk of damaging the conductor. Cables up to 16 mm2 can be stripped with these tools. Frequently the cutting depth of the cutters can be adjusted closely and to different materials. The length stop facilitates series stripping.
